Agreement expands access to renowned cancer expertise, compassionate patient support and research-informed care for eligible military families and retirees

BrightonOne today announced that Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research, has joined the provider network of US Family Health Plan (USFHP) of Southern New England, expanding access to exceptional cancer care for beneficiaries across the region.

The agreement makes Dana-Farber an in-network option for active-duty family members, military retirees and their eligible family members enrolled in the plan. USFHP of Southern New England, administered by BrightonOne, is a TRICARE Prime option serving beneficiaries in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

“A cancer diagnosis can change a family’s world in a moment. Alongside questions about treatment come fears about the future and an urgent need for guidance from people they can trust,” said Rosye Cloud, CEO of BrightonOne. “Having Dana-Farber in our network gives our beneficiaries access to preeminent cancer expertise and compassionate support that recognizes the person behind the diagnosis—and the family beside them. For the military families and retirees we serve, that combination matters deeply.”

Based in Boston, Dana-Farber provides cancer care and conducts research to improve care and develop new treatments. Its approach includes supportive oncology services that address the emotional, psychological and practical challenges patients and families may experience throughout treatment. Dana-Farber is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Dana-Farber is ranked No. 3 nationally for cancer care in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026–27 Best Hospitals rankings.

“Choosing our clinical partners is one of the most consequential responsibilities we have as a health plan,” Cloud added. “We seek institutions that advance the science of medicine and bring that knowledge into practice. Leading-edge research, the adoption of proven best practices and attentive, coordinated care are essential to improving outcomes. This relationship reflects our commitment to connecting beneficiaries with care that meets their needs today and continues to improve as medicine advances.”

The agreement is part of BrightonOne’s ongoing expansion of its provider network, giving eligible military retirees and military-connected families enrolled in the plan greater access to specialized care. Bringing Dana-Farber into the network strengthens beneficiaries’ options at a time when trusted expertise, clear guidance and support for the whole family can be especially consequential.

TRICARE Open Season runs from Nov. 9 through Dec. 8, 2026, with enrollment changes taking effect Jan. 1, 2027. Eligible military families and retirees can learn more about USFHP of Southern New England, its provider network and enrollment at usfamilyhealth.org.
